Job Description

Are you looking for an opportunity to develop high quality web-based business applications? Personal Group want a bright and ambitious apprentice who is keen to take their skills to the next level. Working on new customer-facing applications for their Hapi benefits platform and app, as well as developing functionality of existing ones.


As an Apprentice Software Developer, you will be encouraged to bring innovative development ideas to improve the efficient operation of the business through software development!

Our existing technologies include:

  • Outsystems
  • Apple iOS
  • Universe
  • Various Microsoft Languages

Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:

  • Learn how to use the OutSystems development platform
  • Develop your programming skills and knowledge of the IT function
  • Evaluate, analyse, design and develop customer facing quality software solutions
  • Create solutions to increase customer engagement with applications and services
  • Create documentation for system developments i.e. end users/project managers
  • Manage information to meet project needs
  • Provide user orientation and training when required 
  • Log, answer, resolve and update all development related support tickets
  • Ensure the compliance with FCA principles “Treating Customers Fairly” (TCF) and other relevant legislative requirements

Qualifications Required

  • GCSE grade 4/C or above in English, maths and IT (or equivalent)
  • A Level in IT

Training Provided

Level 4 Software Developer Apprenticeship Standard (Higher) to include:

Two BCS qualifications taught at Milton Keynes College:

  • Level 4 Diploma in Software Development Methodologies
  • Level 4 Diploma in Software Languages
  • Microsoft - programming in C# or HTML5 with JavaScript and CSS (online).
  • The apprenticeship will incorporate face to face workshops, online learning and on the job experience.
