Responsibilities
Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ)
- Develop and demonstrate the skills and knowledge required to work safely with consideration for others and for the environment
- Have a full understanding of the company SHEQ Policy and Procedures
- Assist in the induction, coordination and monitoring of individual trade and sub-contractor activities
- Comply with and continuously reinforce the Health & Safety culture, striving for an accident free site. If accidents happen, ensure that First Aid is administered (where appropriate), reported appropriately and recorded on the AIMS platform.
- Assist the project team to maintain accurate record keeping and administration
- Maintain the environmental monitoring process in accordance to business requirements
- Demonstrate an understanding of the requirements to achieve excellent quality standards
- Demonstrate an understanding of how the pre-development stage inputs into the production phase
- Support quality checks for all assigned activities
- Support the management of client expectations and customer specific measures
- Identify design improvement and innovations with support from Project team
Production
- Understand and demonstrate the responsibilities of Construction Management through a combination of on-the-job learning and academic study
- Support in the maintenance of accurate project data and reports to enable robust decision making
- Support the production and monitoring of short-term programmes against contract programme
- Assist with the management of all sub-contractors to ensure works are carried out on time and to required standards
- Support the monitoring of performance of suppliers and sub-contractors
- Ensure materials are stored securely and in accordance with manufacturers’ recommendations to minimise loss and wastage
- Ensure waste materials/packaging are recycled wherever possible and where not are disposed of in accordance with the waste management policy

Skills Required
- Financial and commercial awareness

Qualities Required

- Knowledge of building legislation and health and safety legislation
- No previous construction experience is required but a passion for the industry must be demonstrated
Qualifications Required
- A Level DD or;
- BTEC National Diploma PPP or;
- Access to HE Diploma with 21 Merits or;
- Level 3 Apprenticeship in related subject or;
- Equivalent level 3 qualifications worth 64 UCAS points
- 5 GCSE’s including Maths and English (C or above) or equivalent (reformed GCSEs grade 4 or above)
Training Provided
Apprentices take six modules in total and three modules of study per year.
Most modules are taught across two semesters allowing development to be taken at a progressive pace. All modules are at Level 4 and carry a 20 credit weighting.
