Job Description

Opportunity Sheffield, the employment and skills service in Sheffield City Council, is seeking to appoint an Apprentice Service Support and Marketing Officer to provide efficient and effective business support to internal and external customers. The selected candidate will undertake a Level 3 Marketing apprenticeship standard

Responsibilities

Duties will include:

  • Provide support to the service including inputting and extracting information from ICONI (management information system)
  • Ensure effective compliance with Council procedures and policies within the scope of responsibility
  • Ensure Opportunity Sheffield team members receive high quality support to enable effective service delivery
  • General office administration including purchasing goods and services, diary management
  • Act as the first point of contact for customers answering the telephone and receiving/redirecting written correspondence
  • Collating management information 
  • Marketing and Communications Support

Support all aspects of the service’s marketing and communications function, including:

  • Liaise with SCC Communications team on the production of marketing materials and templates
  • Help create marketing and advertising materials, including Sheffield Employability Network content
  • Monitor Opportunity Sheffield’s social media channels, help plan content and prepare social media releases in liaison with senior staff members and the Service and Comms team
  • Assist with the design and processing of mail outs, including the Sheffield Employability Network newsletter
  • Help collate and manage client data
  • Support team members in organising press calls, media briefings and launches
  • Support Opportunity Sheffield promotional events
  • Help research and write case studies
  • Take photographs and film video content in accordance with Council policy and GDPR compliance requirements

Systems and Information Management

  • Maintain and deliver service processes and procedures
  • Collate management information and performance management data
  • Input, maintain, locate, and retrieve data using computerised and manual systems
  • Contribute to the development of new or revised systems and processes

Customer Focus:

  • Work collaboratively to deliver an excellent service to internal and external customers
  • Answer the telephone and ensuring enquiries are dealt with in an effective and efficient manner

Qualifications Required

GCSEs at grades C/4 or above (or equivalent) in maths and English.

A-Level (or equivalent) qualification are preferred.

Training Provided

Level 3 Marketing Assistant apprenticeship standard, which includes:

  • Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
  • End-Point Assessment (EPA)
