Job Description

The main purpose of this role is to be the support for current systems and processes with the view to assisting Senior procurement staff in Tender procedures and good housekeeping.

Responsibilities

What will the apprentice be doing?

  • On the job training and development of Procurement activities
  • Supporting the Tender processes lead by Senior Team Members
  • The clearing of old and setting up of new tender file structures under supervision
  • Utilise the Wax-Medius system for Tender processes
  • In put new supplier contracts in the Contract Management system
  • Monitor the generic Procurement Inbox
  • SAP analysis on Supplier Spend over 60k
  • Track and keep record of the number of New suppliers for all sites on a monthly basis
  • Attend meetings as required with Senior Team members to take minutes and distribute accordingly
  • Collect and analyse data for Procurement KPI’s
  • Manage the Guys, SMIC and Business Contract Registers as required.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The apprentice will be allocated a portion of their working week to dedicate to the academic element of their apprenticeship programme. The apprentice will be studying over three years towards their Level 4 procurement qualifiation. The first year of this will be a Level 3 Business Administration qualification with a focus on procurement, then once this has been obtained, there will be two years of Level 4 learning. The aim being that, after three years, the apprentice will be fully qualified to Level 4. Training will be delivered online.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

When you successfully complete the apprenticeship and subject to business need, the aim is that you will transition into a permanent role within the Procurement Team.
