Responsibilities

We are looking for a keen and reliable individual to join our branch as Apprentice Print Technician.

The apprenticeship will last around three years and 20% of your time will be spent working towards your Level 3 print technician qualification and the other 80% will be spent developing skills and knowledge whilst performing the role.

During the apprenticeship, you will learn all aspects of a press technician role and understand the 6 print categories: 

  • Lithography
  • Screen
  • Flexography
  • Gravure
  • Letterpress
  • Digital

Duties may include:

  • Using various software packages to produce printed materials
  • Colour copying/printing
  • Folding, creasing, perforating, guillotining, large format trimming, mounting and laminating
  • Perform operator maintenance on print and finishing equipment
  • Help maintain a high level of safety, cleanliness and organisation around the workplace
  • Comply with company H&S, Environmental & Quality procedures
  • Ad-hoc duties as directed by the Business Manager

You will apply this knowledge in practice during your working hours and will be supported by an experienced team.

From April 1st 2021 the National Minimum Wage (NMW) for Apprentices is £4.30 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship.

For all other Apprentices the National Minimum Wage appropriate to their age applies. The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent training
