Job Description

Woolpit Health Centre Pharmacy is a local community pharmacy based inside of the Practice. Busy pharmacy assisting over 15,000 patients across our population, with their medication queries and dispensing of their medication. They are currently looking for a Pharmacy Technician apprentice to join their team.


What will the apprentice be doing?

The position would be aimed for a dispenser or technician to assist with the assembling and issuing of medication for the patients registered at the practice. This will include:

  • Serving Patients
  • Dispensing Medications
  • Assisting with medication queries

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • The learner will be studying the Pharmacy Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard qualification
  • Day release to West Suffolk College
  • Functional skills will be studied if equivalent qualifications are not held

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Once completed the course the applicants will hold a NVQ level 3 Pharmacy technician qualification with Medicines management and Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician qualifications too. They will be able to use these skills and knowledge in to a senior checking role with pharmacies. They will potentially be able to take theirs medicines management skills in toe CCG’s or ICB’s as they are known now. Hospital positions in pharmacy or on the wards.
