Job Description

An opportunity to develop your culinary skills and learn from a highly skilled team in an award winning hotel kitchen. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate!

Responsibilities

Working alongside the Pastry team.

You will:

  • Assist in the food preparation process, preparing and cooking elements of high quality dishes 
  • Understand food safety and contribute to maintaining the kitchen and food safety standards
  • You will also assist with deliveries and re-stocking and learn the importance of stock rotation

  • This apprenticeship would suit anyone who is keen to work as a Pastry chef in an upmarket Hotel/Restaurant or keen to run their own restaurant business in the future

Skills Required

  • Being a Pastry Chef can mean working at a fast pace when the restaurant is full
  • You will be active during your shift for at least 8 hours a day and will need to be able to take direction from a busy chef
  • A passion for food, willingness to learn and excellent listening skills are key attributes for a Commis Chef

Qualifications Required

  • GCSE maths and English at grade 4/C or above or equivalent
     

Training Provided

  • Commis Chef Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard
  • Functional Skills Level 1 maths and English
