We are seeking to recruit an Apprentice Paralegal to join our Company Secretarial team. The role will be based in Leeds. The team, which sits within our wider Corporate team, handles all aspects of entity management, including formation of companies and acting as company secretary.


The type of tasks an Apprentice Paralegal can expect to assist with on a day to day basis can vary but may include:

  • Drafting filings for Companies House
  • Working with specialist company secretarial software
  • Dealing with client communications
  • Checking and reviewing documents 
  • Indexing
  • Collating and filing documents
  • Undertaking research
  • Maintaining databases
  • Occasionally attending meetings and taking minutes/notes
  • General administration tasks
  • Filing and assisting the team with other ad-hoc duties

By the end of your Paralegal Apprenticeship you will have developed the knowledge and experience in order to assist the team with:

  • A full range of company secretarial matters, having a thorough understanding of how companies are structured and administered
  • Advice on the fundamentals of corporate law as it relates to company administration
  • Management and maintenance of company registers (hard copy and online)
  • Liaising with Companies House
  • Business development activities in order to win new company secretarial instructions

Skills Required

  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Proficient in IT, including experience with Microsoft Office

Qualities Required

  • A clear interest in the role and practice of a company secretary (although no prior knowledge or experience is required)         
  • Flexible and willing within a busy environment
  • Ability to multi-task where necessary
  • Enthusiastic, confident, with demonstrable interpersonal skill
  • Accurate with good attention to detail 
  • Demonstrates honesty and integrity
  • Team player who can work well with colleagues remotely
  • Good sense of perspective and able to use common sense
  • Committed, hard-working and responsible  

Qualifications Required

  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, including mathematics and English or equivalent
  • A-Levels (or equivalent) are essential for this role (120+ UCAS points)
  • Although we do have minimum academic requirements, we are willing to accept applications from candidates who have mitigating circumstances or feel like they can demonstrate the required qualities and behaviours
