Job Description

We have high standards to meet when it comes to treating sewage, protecting and enhancing the environment is one of our biggest priorities. You’ll learn how to carry out routine tasks with the operation and maintenance of our sewage treatment works and pumping stations ensuring our works run efficiently and to high standards.

Responsibilities

What will the apprentice be doing?

*Complete on-the-job training to gain high level technical knowledge supporting transition to placement
*Carry out routine tasks with the maintenance of sewage treatment works & pumping stations
*Working under the support of colleagues, sharing responsibility for operational tasks
*Undertake onsite process sampling & laboratory analysis, process the data captured
*Support site energy efficiency programmes & Planning optimisation benefitting the business & environment

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Within Waste Water Operations you will complete the Waste Water Process Operative pathway within the Level 2 Water Process Operative Apprenticeship allowing you to develop the skills & experience required to become an expert Operations Technician within our operational teams. You’ll combine on-the-job learning with formal, nationally recognised development training.
A Personal Development Plan will help drive your career progression, set, agreed & regularly reviewed with your line manager

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

At the end of your training, as long as you pass your end point assessment and have met your performance targets throughout your Apprenticeship, you will be offered an opportunity in a permanent role with us.
You’ll take up an Operational Technician role in our Waste Water Recycling team where you’ll get to make a real difference. 
Once you are fully qualified, your off-scheme role may require you to work shifts, drive a company van and/or work alone.

Reality Check

For this Level 2 apprenticeship, ideally candidates will already have or be on track to achieve English and Maths GCSE Grade 4 (C). If not, individuals just need to complete an additional functional skills course alongside their apprenticeship to achieve Level 2 English and Maths, delivered by the apprenticeship training provider
