What will the apprentice be doing?
*Complete on-the-job training to gain high level technical knowledge supporting transition to placement
*As part of a dynamic team produce high quality drinking water for our customers
*Using Raw Water Sources & Storage Reservoirs, plant processes & potentially Distribution Service Reservoirs
*Work alongside a dedicated maintenance team, process team & Team Manager
*Your development will enable you to build knowledge of using control platforms such as SCADA & PRISM to operate the work
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Within Water Treatment you will complete the Clean Water Process Operative pathway within the Level 2 Water Process Operative Apprenticeship allowing you to develop the skills & experience required to become an expert Operations Technician within our operational teams. You’ll combine on-the-job learning with formal, nationally recognised development training.A Personal Development Plan will help drive your career progression, set, agreed & regularly reviewed with your line manager
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
At the end of your training, as long as you pass your end point assessment and have met your performance targets throughout your Apprenticeship, you will be offered an opportunity in a permanent role with us.
You’ll take up an Operational Technician role in our Water Treatment team where you’ll get to make a real difference.
Once you are fully qualified, your off-scheme role may require you to work shifts, drive a company van and/or work alone.
Reality CheckFor this Level 2 apprenticeship, ideally candidates will already have or be on track to achieve English and Maths GCSE Grade 4 (C). If not, individuals just need to complete an additional functional skills course alongside their apprenticeship to achieve Level 2 English and Maths, delivered by the apprenticeship training provider
