Job Description

Play Days is a private day nursery based within the Eyres Monsell & Gilmorton children’s centre, situated on Hillsborough Road and we are looking for an apprentice to join our team. Our philosophy of "Superior nursery care & education during a child's most formative years" provides our children with the best possible start in life.

Responsibilities

For this role you will need :

  • Good communication skills and relate well to people of all ages
  • Good practical skills and be a quick learner
  • Be calm, confident and caring
  • Have a conscientious approach to working

Your duties will include:

  • Providing personal care i.e. nappy change
  • Encourage health and wellbeing
  • Assistant with mealtimes
  • Building relationships with children, parents and guardians
  • Working within a team
  • DBS checks will be completed for successful applicants
  • To provide care for children aged 0-5 years of age
  • To provide meals throughout the day
  • To promote sleep and play throughout the day
  • Carrying our personal care such as nappy change
  • Ensuring safe play at all times - being vigilant and responsive
  • Use of EYFS and activity planning for age

Qualifications Required

  • A previous level 2 in childcare would be preferred 
  • GCSE maths and English grade 4/C, equivalent and above would be preferred
  • Some childcare experience

  • Early Years Educator Level 3
  • Functional Skills if required
