Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic Nursery Apprentice- required to join a dedicated team caring and educating children aged 3 months-5 years, whilst completing your formal training to Early Years educator Level 3.


Duties include:

  • An enthusiastic who can help provide the  best Early Years Care and Education through play and fun activities
  • Working within a team and have the ability to communicate effectively to your team, parents/carers and the children you are caring for
  • Carry out training to understand children’s care, development & education in accordance with all the laws and standards we must meet
  • Caring for children aged 3 months to 5 years, assisting with all aspects of their daily care needs
  • The work can be demanding but is very rewarding
  • Caring for children aged 3 months to 5 years

  • There is potential for permanent employment on successful completion of your apprenticeship

Reality Check

  • You will be needed to work a shift pattern between 8.00am & 6.00pm
  • A DBS check is essential
  • Although the work can be demanding it is also extremely rewarding 
  • Fun and hard work, requires dedication and enthusiasm and a real delight in children’s learning 
  • We are an Outstanding nursery and expect a high standard to be maintained at all times
  • After interview candidates are invited into Nursery for a trial session where they can demonstrate their communication and inter–personal skills before a formal offer is made

Skills Required

  • You should be proficient at communicating with children and adults alike, with a good standard of spoken English
  • It is important that you can record observations effectively and accurately
  • You should be an excellent team player and willing to ‘step up’ to get the task done

Qualities Required

  • A willing team player, with initiative and a friendly attitude, who wants to learn and develop and is dedicated to working with children
  • Punctuality is essential and we maintain suitable ratios at all times
  • Good observation skills to link with developing knowledge

Qualifications Required

  • Apprentices must have a good standard of spoken and written English language and will have either achieved a GCSE grade 4/Functional Skills Level 2, or above in either English or maths, ideally both, before they commence their apprenticeship
  • Level 2 Qualification in related subject
