A fantastic opportunity has become available at Redwood House Children's Day Nursery.

They are looking for an apprentice nursery nurse to fit well within the team and learn skills on the job working with children.

Duties will include:

  • Caring for children
  • Preparing and maintaining environments to meet children's needs
  • Supporting children's play and learning
  • Supporting children's development
  • Help to keep children safe
  • Preparing snacks and help with their feeding and cleaning

As an apprentice you will be included on a Children's and Young Peoples Workforce Qualification, this will involve a Regional Trainer visiting you on a monthly basis observing you whilst you work.

Future Prospects

This vacancy is for a permanent position with the possibility of full-time employment within Redwood House Children's Day Nursery upon the successful completion of the apprenticeship programme upon the successful completion of the apprenticeship programme.

Reality Check

Working 30 hours per week, earliest start 7:30am, latest finish time 6pm.

None specific; however, experience in caring for children would be preferred.

Training Provided

Level 2 Children and Young People's Workforce Apprenticeship

Each framework includes a diploma/certificate which shows the practical skills, a technical certificate to confirm the knowledge and understanding and Functional Skills in Maths and English.

You will be assessed throughout the apprenticeship and complete the qualification based on the competencies within your job role.
You will be assessed by a combination of observations, professional discussion, question and answer sessions and self-study which is required to confirm your knowledge and understanding of the career route you have chosen.
