Job Description

Shooting Stars require an Apprentice Nursery Assistant to join their workforce and complete a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Early Years Practitioner standard. Duties include contributing to a caring environment for children. Apply Today!


What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Understand each child as an individual and have a general understanding of childcare and child development.
  • Assist with the supervision of children at play (indoor and outdoor) and at mealtimes.
  • Learn how to help children become independent through helping them acquire self-help skills, including, dressing, feeding, toilet training and an awareness of personal hygiene.
  • Understand how to demonstrate good practice with regard to special needs and inclusion.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Level 2 - Early Years Practitioner Standard Apprenticeship

This will involve a Regional Trainer delivering face to face training and e-learning, and workplace mentoring, to guide you through your Apprenticeship.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Possible progression to level 3 following successful completion of a level two childcare standard, Shooting Stars Nurseries will guarantee a permanent, full time position to the applicant.
