Job Description

We are looking for an apprentice who can become a key member of the early years team and will be responsible for delivering high quality care as well as learning opportunities for children based on their needs and interests.

Responsibilities

Day to day duties...

  • Promote positive relationships in the early years’ setting
  • Promote the health, safety and well-being of the children
  • Support the children’s development, learning and play
  • Be a Key Person carrying out all related responsibilities in building relationships with a small group of children and their families
  • Contribute to the effectiveness of team work
  • To be a role model and be able to showcase high quality practice with regards to individual and group work with children
  • To take responsibility alongside the Nursery Management Team for the safety, security and well-being of all children, staff and visitors at all times
  • To ensure that safeguarding procedures are followed in line with Local Authority and Company procedures
  • To support the management team in supporting the nursery to reach an ‘Outstanding’ grade with Ofsted

Future Prospects

After 6 months of service the hourly rate will be reviewed and may be increase dependent on performance. On completion of the 14 month apprenticeship program, depending on performance you may be offered a full time role and the chance to train to a higher level.

  • The successful candidates will be expected to embrace, understand and promote the Nursery as well as to understand the role you play as part of the team to provide high levels of care and education

Skills Required

  • Previous Childcare experience is preferable but not a necessity as training will be provided

Qualities Required

  • Passionate about working with children
  • Mature and happy to progress with qualifications
  • Must be presentable

Qualifications Required

  • Maths and English GCSE grade C or above, are preferable but not a necessity

Training Provided

Early Year Practitioner Level 2 or Early Years Educator Level 3
