Job Description

HCS are a leading international supplier of high quality speciality hydrocarbon fuels and chemicals. We have a 50 acre site a Harwich that both refines and blends a wide range of products to serve a variety of customers and uses.

Responsibilities

What will the apprentice be doing?

In this role you will learn about many aspects of mechanical process plant design and operation as well as how we manage the integrity the equipment.

  • You will carry out your own mechanical inspections and follow up with data analysis and managing remedial work.
  • You will learn about pressure vessels, pipework systems and other process plant including heat transfer and fluid flow.
  • You will also be taught how to identify corrosion and other degradation mechanisms and how to manage and reduce its consequences. 

We wish to develop you to assist with project and maintenance improvements and in time to manage your own projects

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

The role holder can expect progression both in terms of responsibilities and education and training. We will encourage and support you to continue to learn beyond this Apprentice position.

Reality Check

You will work both on your own and as part of a team of engineers and maintenance. The role will be office based but will also involve work out on site. The role will involve aspects of administration but also will involves analysis, planning and co-ordination of engineering inspection and repair activity
