Responsibilities

What will the apprentice be doing?

Within the Instrumentation, Control & Automation pathway - You’ll learn how to assess, repair & overhaul vital instrument &  control equipment. Diagnosing faults &  designing solutions. The reliable operation & good maintenance of electrical, instrumentation & automation assets are key to ensuring treatment plants & processes are operating efficiently whilst maintaining quality outputs. Under continually changing conditions such as varying customer demand or changes in weather frequently occur

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Within Waste Water Recycling you will complete the ICA pathway within the Level 3 Utilities Engineering Apprenticeship allowing you to develop the skills & experience required to become an expert Maintenance Technician. You’ll combine on-the-job learning with formal, nationally recognised development training.A Personal Development Plan will help drive your career progression, set, agreed & regularly reviewed with your line manager

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

At the end of your training, as long as you pass your end point assessment and have met your performance targets throughout your Apprenticeship, you will be offered an opportunity in a permanent role with us. You’ll take up a Maintenance Technician role, either in our Water Treatment or Wastewater Recycling business, where you’ll get to make a real differencee targets throughout your Apprenticeship, you will be offered an opportunity in a permanent role with us.

Reality Check

For this Level 3 apprenticeship, ideally candidates will already have or be on track to achieve English and Maths GCSE Grade 4 (C). If not, individuals just need to complete an additional functional skills course alongside their apprenticeship to achieve Level 2 English and Maths, delivered by the apprenticeship training provider
