You will be working with skilled engineers learning all aspects of the products and services, helping to design innovative products and maintenance of marine searchlights, vehicle lighting, security and much more.

Responsibilities

Francis Searchlights Limited have designed and manufactured innovative, high quality and competitive lighting products since 1901. The company has achieved a Worldwide reputation of the highest standard. From the purpose built 18,000 sq ft factory premises in Bolton, United Kingdom, the innovative products are developed and manufactured, and include; marine searchlights, vehicle lighting, security and architectural units.

We now have an Apprentice Maintenance Engineer position available to undertake the following duties:

  • Work alongside our skilled engineers to develop skills and knowledge on all our products and services
  • Develop skills in house through working within various departments
  • Building and repairing our products
  • Study a Maintenance & Operations Engineering Technician apprenticeship on a day release programme at Alliance Learning.

Clients vary across a wide spectrum, from commercial marine, naval, army, security and prisons, through to architectural lighting concepts and projects.

Reality Check

Please be aware you will be working in the company and will also be required to attend Alliance Learning for Day release training.

Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Qualifications Required

GCSE A/8-C/4 (or equivalent) in English and Maths.

Training Provided

The successful applicant will be working towards an Advanced Maintenance & Operations Engineering Technician Apprenticeship at Alliance Learning, gaining valuable skills, knowledge and behaviours of working within an engineering environment.
