Quasar Microwave Technology is a market leading precision engineering company that produces high quality parts & sub-assemblies to customer specifications. We are looking to recruit an Apprentice Machinist to join our team.


Working with a small team of engineers and designers your day to day duties will include:

  • Manual precision machining small batches of uniquely designed quality parts for a range of industries
  • Engineering and finishing brass and aluminium precision parts
  • Interpreting CAD bespoke design
  • Finishing products to a high standard
  • Programming CNC

Reality Check

20 days holiday
Monday to Thursday 8am - 5pm (hour for lunch, two of these days will be College days in year 1 and will include 1.5 hour of breaks) Friday 8am - 1pm

Qualifications Required

  • GCSE or equivalent at grade C/4 + at least in 4 subjects including maths and English 
  • Btec certificate or diploma in engineering advantageous but not essential

Training Provided

  • Full training will be given by Exeter College on the Engineering Technician Level 3 - Machinist qualification
  • On the job training and mentoring support from QMTL
