Responsibilities
What will the apprentice be doing?
Our Lifeguards proactively safeguard the activities taking part in and around our swimming areas whilst enabling and delivering the safe and effective operations of the leisure centre.
You will learn how to lifeguard pool sessions, ensure the setting up and taking down of equipment is carried out, plus general cleaning tasks and maintenance/building checks.
We provide a range of targeted physical activity, sport and leisure opportunities for all our customers to ensure they have an enjoyable experience within our leisure campuses across Wiltshire.
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join us at The Activity Zone in Malmesbury as an Apprentice Lifeguard working 30 hours per week.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Level 2 Leisure Team Member Apprenticeship Standard
- Level 3 Certificate in First Aid
- Level 2 Award in Pool Lifeguarding
- Level 2 Certificate in Teaching Swimming
- Level 2 Certificate in Fitness or Gym Instruction
Maths and English Functional Skills if required.
The apprenticeship training will be delivered in the workplace with assessor visits and online meetings.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
At the end of the apprenticeship you will be able to demonstrate the specific qualifications, knowledge and skills required for this role.
