What will the apprentice be doing?
We are recruiting Lifeguard Apprentices for our London Clubs, with succesful applicants being placed in Clubs local to their residence.
Supervision of members within the pool & surrounding areas, to ensure safety at all times.
Cleaning duties to ensure safety, hygiene & pleasant area.
Carry out daily checks such as water temperature & equipment storage.
Enthusiastically engage with members, providing outstanding service.
Additional activities to support club operation where required.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The role will include completing the Leisure Team Member Level 2 apprenticeship Standard.
You’ll also gain these great new qualifications:
STA Lifeguard qualification
STA Swim Teachers Association – Award in Teaching Swimming
STA Swim Teachers Association – Certificate in Swim Teaching
Active IQ – Level 2 Certificate in Gym Instruction
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
This is a great opening to take your first step into the Leisure industry and develop your skills to progress within the sector. Succesful applicants will undertake their apprenticeship within one of our London based clubs local to their home address.
The opportunities to progress after the apprenticeship include becoming a permanent member of staff and progressing onto various Management roles and training.
Reality CheckYou’ll need to have a strong swimming ability and be able to complete the following Swim Test: Enter and climb out of the pool unaided Swim continuously for 200m – 100m front stroke and 100m back stroke Complete a 50m swim within 60 seconds Submerse and touch the bottom of the deepest part of the pool Complete a 50m swim in breast stroke
