Responsibilities
What will the apprentice be doing?

Ensure that you adhere to the child protection, safeguarding, health & safety and equal opportunities policies and any other policies for staff of the school

Support the class teacher to provide the highest quality of education and to enable all pupils to access and enjoy their learning
-
Helping prepare the provision, setting out resources, replenishing stationery etc.

Welcome parents and children warmly

Supervise children’s learning and play under the direction of the class teacher

Prepare food for the children’s snack station in class and in breakfast or after school club

Helping to reset the provision at the end of each session

Maintaining high levels of hygiene by carrying out simple ongoing cleaning e.g. wiping tables

Participate in both indoor and outdoor learning and play activities

Modelling good quality use of language and conversation at all times for the children

Liaise with the class teacher and playworker/ club leader on any issues of health & safety and report any child protection concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Lead

Participate in team training in house for LSAs and all staff
-
Be a positive and problem solving team member

Ensure you live by the school values of respect, friendship and trust and set an example to the children in how you do this with them and your colleagues

Complete tasks set by tutor to deadlines set

Join in with school life as a member of the whole staff team
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Level 3 Teaching Assistant, with SEND specialism. This is with our internal provider Hampshire Achieves, on a day release programme.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
After completion you could progress onto a higher level apprenticeship.
