What will the apprentice be doing?
As an Apprentice Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for undertaking sample preparation and testing of a wide variety of materials, using specialist equipment, for flammability & explosivity testing. You will be expected to support the team through general laboratory duties. Your role will involve: · Ensuring the laboratory is maintained in a clean and safe condition · Ordering of chemicals and general consumables · Preparation of materials and equipment · Assisting other technicians with tests as required · Conduct of testing in the IEH Laboratory (as specified in the individual training records) · Emailing of test results to clients · Ensure that you and your team are aware of your responsibilities to uphold and enforce good health and safety practice at DEKRA

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Qualification/s to be obtained:
Laboratory Technician Level 3
The training will be delivered by Business Plus at Fareham College, an Ofsted Outstanding College. Your training will be delivered Day Release, and you will attend Fareham College. The schedule of this day release is to be confirmed.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
There is prospect for a full-time position with DEKRA, if the candidate is successful after the 2-year apprenticeship.
