Job Description

What will the apprentice be doing?

You will work alongside a mentor to maintain and improve the technical capabilities of the company, that will have chemistry at their core.

Some of the duties will include:

  • Operate laboratory machinery- mixing & press-moulding equipment
  • Use analytical equipment to test properties of manufactured or development products
  • Wet-chemical analyses of chemicals
  • Record experimental observations in laboratory
  • Test raw materials to ensure quality and costs are maintained
  • Work with colour-matching equipment

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Over 21 months, you’ll devote 20% of your 40 hours of working time towards a Level 3 Laboratory Technician apprenticeship. You’ll be trained by an expert tutor from Tiro as well as an experienced mentor at Architectural Panel Solutions who together, will make sure you develop the knowledge, skills, and work habits you’ll need to succeed in your career. What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Success in this role could lead to advancement into laboratory roles that could include product Research and Development and product Technical Service in the company or within similar industries, or into manufacturing roles within the company, or within similar industries. As the company grows, opportunities to grow and develop will arise. The Directors are keen on promoting from within and on providing development opportunities to those who desire and merit it.
