What will the apprentice be doing?
Joelson is a thriving commercial law firm based in the West End of London, with approximately 70 people. The successful candidate will report to Rani Ahmed the Head of HR.
The role involves:
Recruitment
· Creating new job specs and advertising onto job boards
· Organise and arrange interviews with candidates
· Liaise with agencies and preferred suppliers on terms and introduction parameters
· Involved with Early Careers recruitment and attraction programmes
· Arranging work experience and insight days for teams
· Liaising with various network groups
Administration
· Manage and maintain the annual HR calendar, provide monthly updates to the team at team meetings and diarise important dates
· Handling a wide range administration from offer letters/contracts/forms etc
· Assist with the scheduling of inductions and onboarding new joiners
· Liaise with Head of HR on new joiner onboarding checklists
· Administration of benefits and payroll amendments required
· Building monthly reports to keep a track of absences and leave to monitor the IRIS system reports
· Maintaining database and ensuring compliance with GDPR
Other Duties
· Note taking during performance review processes, issues relating to grievances and disciplinaries.
· Assisting with new HR systems projects
· Involvement with Wellbeing, Inclusion and Diversity, Charity, and social committees within the firm.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
As a HR Support Apprentice with BPP, you will complete the HR Support Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship, which is aligned with the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). Upon completion you will be awarded the CIPD Foundation Certificate, and you will be able to apply for Membership of CIPD.
The apprenticeship will be delivered through a blend of live online learning, pre-recorded lectures, and face to face inductions and masterclasses.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
The role is to expand and embed the HR function within the Firm as it organically grows. The individual will be provided the opportunity to increase their technical knowledge and be exposed to a wide range of HR generalist duties.
