Responsibilities
What will the apprentice be doing?
Working within the Test department at the Westcott space you will learn about every aspect of the firing sites including site preparation, maintenance, & upgrades, rocket propellant handling, pressure systems, instrumentation, control systems, space thruster theory, steam boiler operation, mechanical pump operation, temperature conditioning systems, basic data analysis, site & system safety.

- Space Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Standard
- Company Training Plan
- Level 4 Higher National Certificate in (HNC) engineering delivered by ETT
- End Point Assessment
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
The successful candidate will develop beyond the Apprentice Hot Fire Test role, to that of a proficient test engineer working across all our engine and environmental test sites, supporting other functions such as engineering. Involvement in the design and development of Nammo's expanding test facilities could be expected, and successful candidates could progress to lead such initiatives in the future.
Reality Check
Duties will be performed in a facility requiring the frequent use of Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) and chemically resistant clothing to handle potentially hazardous substances, and working with high pressure gas systems. You will be required to pass a periodic basic medical examination.Skills Required
