Responsibilities
What will the apprentice be doing?
- Undertake delegated work of the multidisciplinary team to assist in the provision of individualised planned patient care under indirect supervision
- Use a degree of initiative to ensure patient’s personal needs are met, and the patient’s condition is reported to qualified staff
- Assist in maintaining a safe and healthy environment, by ensuring orderliness and hygiene and safety of the ward/department
- Gain competencies in skills specific to the role and department.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- GHNHSFT mandatory training
- Apprenticeship webinars / workshops once a month delivered in our Education Centres
- Ward / Department based observations
- Competencies as determined by the line manager as relevant to the work area / department
- Regular progress review meetings face to face with the assessor
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- Permenant employment may be available upon the completition of the apprenticeship
