Job Description

Hewshott Farm Stables is a busy family run livery & riding school. BHS and Pony Club approved. Our friendly liveries range from leisure riders to BE & BD competition riders with PC children in between so we have a range of horses on the yard. Our riding school is an active pony club centre and clients range from beginners to more advanced riders.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a dedicated and proactive member of staff to join our team. Experience isn’t necessary as the successful candidate will have regular training in practical and classroom sessions with the opportunity to follow a BHS career pathway. A desire to succeed and a love of horses is all that is required although some experience is a bonus

.General duties to include:

  • Mucking out
  • Turning out/bringing in
  • Tack cleaning
  • Tacking up
  • Feeding
  • Filling hay nets
  • Bathing
  • Rug changing
  • Riding
  • Holding for farrier

Other duties once trained/more experienced:

  • Clipping and trimming
  • Lunging
  • First Aid
  • Schooling

Future Prospects

A Full position on completion of apprenticeship

Experience with horses essential

  • Honesty, reliability & trustworthiness are a must

Ability to do Functional skills L1/L2

Training Provided

Full training through the equine Apprenticeship supported by Haddon Training
