Job Description

As an Apprentice Greenkeeper, you will be working with, and reporting, to the Golf Course Superintendents and you will be responsible for maintaining and presenting the golf course to the highest tournament standards on a daily basis.


What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Learn Health & Safety and How to operate all types of equipment
  • Mow & maintain all types of amenity grasses
  • Basic preventative maintenance work on all types of equipment 

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • The qualification received will be the Level 2 Greenkeeping Apprenticeship.
  • Myerscough College will send a trainer down to the Estate on a monthly basis and the studying takes place onsite.  

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

  • The next step on the career ladder will be Assistant Greenkeeper.
