Apprentice Floorlayer (BUX-0001-22) - Intermediate (Level 2)

We're looking for an enthusiastic apprentice who's willing to learn & develop the skills of the flooring trade. Installing flooring in commercial and domestic settings, including on new build sites, you will train to become a qualified Floorlayer & gain a vast amount of knowledge & experience from a well established & reputable flooring company.

Responsibilities

What will the apprentice be doing?

Working in a well established and highly reputable local company, the successful candidate will work in domestic or commercial buildings, including on new build sites alongside an experienced team to carry out preparation & installation works.

You will be assisting with:

* Measuring floor space & estimating the
of materials needed.

* Uplifting old flooring.

* Cleaning, levelling & preparing the sub
floor including smoothing compounds.

* Installing underlays for a range of
floorcoverings.

* Installing various floorcoverings (carpet,
luxury vinyl tiles, sheet resilient flooring)
to industry standards.

* Creating joins in a range of floor
coverings.

* Clearing away furniture and taking off
doors and then putting back furniture.

* Fitting gripper rods underlay and floor
coverings.

*Stretching carpets over spiked gripper
rods and taping.

*Planning out areas for laminate flooring,
LVT and engineered woods.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Training will be a combination of learning on the job, online sessions and assignments and visits to the Trainig Provider's learning facility in East London. This visit will be one day every month.

On succesful completeion of the Apprenticeship you will achieve a L2 Floorlayer qualification.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

On succesful completeion of the Apprenticeship there is opportunity for a full time role.

Reality Check

This is a physical role which involves heavy lifting and a good deal of strength. You must have good practical skills, a keen eye for detail and a good manner for dealing with the client. The ability to work well in a team is essential.
