The chosen candidate will study towards a Extended Diploma Level 3 in Fabrication and Welding Apprenticeship. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate.


The chosen candidate will study towards the Level 3 Metal Fabricator apprenticeship Standard.

Duties may include, but shall not be limited to:

  • MIG, TIG and MMA welding of various steel alloys
  • Repair/fabrication/overlay welding of castings
  • Working to a variety of job-specific written procedures
  • Good understanding of welding processes and limitations
  • Operating under company quality procedures
  • Ability to pass the welder qualification procedure with different welding position codes

Qualifications Required

  • The chosen candidate must have 5 GCSE's or equivalent at Grade C/4 (or higher), Must include maths and English

Training Provided

  • Metal Fabricator Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard
  • The Year one Fabrication and Welding programme delivered at the AMRC Training Centre over a 16-week full time block programme will include the following compulsory units:

  • Producing plate-work, components and assemblies
  • Preparing and using TIG or Plasma Arc equipment
  • Preparing and using semi - automatic MIG, MAG and flux-cored welding equipment
