The apprentice fabricator is responsible for assisting with analysing fabrication drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly and welding operations. For the right person, there is the opportunity to secure full-time employment and progress to higher level qualifications.

Responsibilities

The apprentice fabricator is responsible for assisting with analysing fabrication drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly and welding operations.

The apprentice will develop their own skills, working alongside experienced fabricators. The apprentice will have knowledge of a variety of general procedures, methods and techniques that will allow contribution to the work of the department however will continue further learning

Duties and responsibilities will include:

Delivery:

  • Participate and continue with own learning and studies
  • Assist in analysing fabrication drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and fabrication operations
  • Listen to feedback to hone skills and improve detailed designs to meet project/task requirements
  • Check own work against sample parts through the first off procedure
  • Ensure attention to detail, seek feedback on rectification of error whilst considering cost control are considered when engaged on project work

People:

  • Work closely with immediate team exchanging relevant information within working group
  • Use feedback from other co-workers, within working group to improve own development
  • Display excellence in communication across department and working groups
  • Develop open working relationships in line with the company values and work collaboratively with internal colleagues

  • 5 GCSE grades 4/C or above including English, maths & Science
