Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed individual looking to develop their skills in horse care and riding. You will work alongside our current team, handling and caring for our top class competition horses. This could be a fantastic opportunity for somebody who is wanting to further their career within the industry.

Responsibilities

What will the apprentice be doing?

We are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and dedicated apprentice who is looking to further their knowledge and skills. The successful candidate will work alongside our current team, handling and caring for our competition horses.

Working with professional people, the training will give a good foundation to go on and work in any sphere of equestrian.

A high standard of care and attention to detail will be expected to maintain the company image we pride ourselves on.

Yard duties will include:

  • Turning out and bringing in
  • Mucking out
  • Feeding, watering and haying
  • Grooming
  • Clipping and trimming
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the yard at all times
  • Bandaging
  • Tacking up
  • Lunging/long rein
  • Riding

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly, hard-working team. Within the role, the successful candidate will be working towards a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Horse Care, with further training and employment available for the right candidate.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

A full equine level 2 apprenticeship with KEITS.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Progression onto level 3 for the right candidate.
