Job Description

A great opportunity for an apprentice at a professional competition yard based near Badminton, we have very high standards of care. For the right person, there is the opportunity to secure full time employment and progress to higher level qualifications.


Our team are highly experienced and have excellentattention to detail, we also have the following excellent on site facilities:

  • Stables in separate blocks all 12x12 with rubber matting 80 acres of pasture 60m x 30m Martin Collins floodlit arena 
  • Full set of Show Jumps
  • Simulated XC fences 5 furlong Martin Collins gallops
  •  All weather horse walkerbr
  • Plenty of parking 
  • Good local hacking
  • Hydrotherapy cold water spa

Usual duties to include:

  • Mucking out
  • Turning outbringing in Feeding
  • Filling hay nets
  • Tidying yard
  • Grooming
  • Rug changing
  • Tack cleaning
  • Tacking up
  • Clipping
  • Pulling
  • Plaiting
  • Trimming
  • Bathing
  • First aid
  • Exercising horses from the ground (lunging, lunging with appropriate training aids, long reining, etc.)
  • Paddock maintenance
  • Holding for vet farrier dentist physio

Future Prospects

  • Possibility to complete Level 3 on completion of Level 2

Reality Check

  • Flexible depending on yard commitments, but usually Tuesday to Saturday with Sunday and Monday off

Skills Required

  • Equine Experience is necessary
