Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hard-working person to join our team as an apprentice groom, with the potential to become an instructor. Experience with horses is essential, including being able to ride to a decent standard. Ideally have owned your own horse and have experience working in a commercial environment either as a volunteer or paid.


Duties to include:

  • Mucking out
  • Turning out/bringing in
  • Tack cleaning
  • Tacking up
  • Feeding
  • Filling hay nets
  • Clipping/pulling/plaiting/trimming
  • Bathing
  • Rug changing
  • Schooling
  • Riding
  • First aid
  • Exercising horses from the ground (lunging, horse walker, long reining, pessoa training etc.)
  • Holding for vet/farrier/dentist
  • Assisting with lessons
  • Office duties to include taking bookings and payments, dealing with clients over the phone and in person, completion of paperwork

Future Prospects

Possibility of level 3 apprenticeship and becoming and instructor
