Over the period of the apprenticeship, the successful candidate will be expected to work across all areas of the business to obtain a broad and varied understanding of what we do. They will follow an in-house training plan which will include working with the following:
- CNC turrets
- Press brakes
- Salvagninis, a state of the art powder coating facility
- Many other processes
After successfully completing the in-house training and the level 3 training at West Suffolk College, the candidate will have a broad knowledge base allowing for progression in various areas of the business. Depending on the strengths/preference of the candidate, and the business needs, future prospects are open and could lead to a shop floor or office based role. Further training at the college is also a possibility such as a HNC.
It is a very practical role and will include production work as part of the apprenticeship. We believe to get the most out of this opportunity, you need experience of doing the job, alongside the training. One day of the week to be spent at college.
The individual will be working across various departments and with different teams/supervisors, and so it’s important that that you are able to listen effectively and work as part of a team.
We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic who is prepared to face lots of different challenges. With the right attitude, we feel that most other skills can be taught.
GCSE Grade 5/B or above in maths, English and science is essential
Level 3 Engineering Technician Apprenticeship.
All apprentices will be required to achieve as a minimum:
- An employer approved Level 2 Foundation Competence qualification
- An employer approved Level 3 Development Competence qualification
- An employer approved Level 3 Development Technical Knowledge qualification
- Apprentices without Level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking end point assessment
