Job Description

This is a great opportunity for the right candidate who is passionate about childcare and is keen to help young minds to grow, learn and explore, while developing childcare skills themselves they will help to provide a stimulating and exciting learning environment that meets each child's individual needs and prepares them for life beyond nursery.


To promote and support the safeguarding of all children within the setting.

To have a sound knowledge of policies and procedures, in particular safeguarding and whistle blowing policy.

To understand that safeguarding children is paramount in ensuring children are safe from harm.

To support management in updating and implementing ongoing policies and procedures.

To work as part of a team.

To provide a stimulating, enabling environment for children to play, learn and develop, both indoors and outdoors.

To observe, assess and plan for children’s development, using the EYFS.

The candidates will report to the Manager and Deputy managers also to the room leaders

Salary will depend on age. Hourly 8.91 aged 23 and over £8.36 aged 21-22 £6.56 aged 18-20 Weekly £334.12 £313.50 £245.00

Skills Required

Empathy and understanding of children under five

Excellent verbal and communication skills with children and parents

Ability to write reports and keep clear accurate records.

Excellent organisational skills.

Good IT skills

Calm and caring nature Ability to work as part as a team

Able to work on own initiative.

Qualifications Required

Minimum 4 A*-C 9-4 GCSEs or equivalent
