An excellent opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic person to train as a dental nurse in a busy private dental practice based in the Bury area. The Apprentice will play an important team role in the day to day planning, organisation and smooth running of the practice, and to ensure all the practices objectives are met.

Responsibilities

You will be completing a wide range of duties involved with assisting the Dentist/Hygienist in the care of patients.

This will include:

  • Chairside assistance - passing instruments to the Dentist/Hygienist
  • Sterilising instruments
  • Preparing instruments and materials
  • Updating patient records as instructed by the Dentist
  • Set up and prepare the surgery
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and infection control
  • Keeping patient information confidential
  • Follow all workplace policies and procedures
  • Perform a receptionist service to customers, book appointments and welcome customers

This vacancy is for an Apprenticeship with the opportunity for progression onto a permanent contract once successfully completing the Apprenticeship.

Qualifications Required

  • Preferable if you have GCSE grade 4-9 (A*- C) in maths and English (or the equivalent) but not essential

Training Provided

  • Dental Nursing Level 3 Standard plus Functional Skills if required
  • This is a work based qualification with college attendance every Wednesday, 3.00pm - 6.30pm, term time only
  • Some college attendance may also be required for Functional Skills
