Apprentice Customs Clearing Assistant based in Oldham.

Responsibilities

Duties to include:

  • To deal with customer enquiries, in writing, in person and by phone providing accurate advice and estimates when required
  • Learn all aspects of Customs and Port Inventory systems and the shipping processes
  • Learn to create and update Customer files as each case progresses
  • Deal with shipment queries and provide advice on documentation
  • Enhance your customer service skills, meeting and greeting customers and visitors and communicating with external organisations such as HMRC and Port Authorities
  • Filing of all documents and postal duties
  • Learn to obtain necessary Bill of Ladings and correct Tariff Headings
  • Assist with Health and Safety duties and maintain and archive information in line with GDPR
  • Successful applicant will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service  (DBS ) Check
