Job Description

Working in School and School Sport Partnerships, our apprentices are enrolled in 30 hours of work and training delivered by our Tutors. You will be providing extra help during PE lessons and in the classroom, where you will assist and lead extra-curricular activities and support Young Ambassadors and Sports Leaders.

Responsibilities

This specific PE apprentice will have a particular focus on lifesaving/being based at our swimming pool.

Sporting Futures Training apprentices are based within schools and work 30 hours a week, with training being delivered within a local Hubsite setting.

The role involves:

  • Working within a school setting and supporting the delivery of Physical Education and school sport
  • Working within the school pool
  • Undertaking a life-saving qualification
  • The wider community role involves working within the local PE and school sports network to deliver competition for all the schools within the area
  • We also work with National Governing Bodies to work with a Community Sports Apprentice programme
  • It is an interesting, varied position that gives the valuable opportunities of gaining experience in working with young people, colleagues and key community partners in sport
  • You will find out about the sporting career and teaching paths that are available and the hope would be that this apprenticeship will lead you onto your next step on the career ladder

Qualifications Required

GCSEs at grades A*-C/9-4 (or equivalent) in maths and English.

Training Provided

Level 2 Community Activator Coach apprenticeship standard, which includes:

  • Safeguarding Level 1
  • Lifesaving qualification
  • Emergency First Aid at Work
  • Prevent Duty
  • Level 1/2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
  • End-Point Assessment (EPA)
