Job Description

The Crown Hotel are looking to recruit an Apprentice Chef to support the head Chef deliver high quality food from breakfast through to evening.

Responsibilities

 A fantastic opportunity has become available as commis chef within a new and growing pub business you will be supporting the head chef to deliver high quality food from breakfast through to evening service.  As Commis chef you would be involved in menu development as well from how it looks to pricing, ensuring efficient use of ingredients in order to maximise GP across all dishes.  You will also be involved in the kitchen management ensuring that all Food Hygiene and Health and Safety policies and procedures are always adhered to and that standards of cleanliness remain high.   

Our menu features small sharing plates drawn from Southern Mediterranean, North African and Middle Eastern culinary cultures, along with a pizza menu and an ever-changing specials menu.

  • Arrive on time and ready for work in a presentable and professional manner
  • Assist the head chef prepare for service displaying good organisational skills and working in an efficient manner
  • Manning sections of the kitchen during service delivering high quality dishes in line with menu specifications and in a timely manner
  • Cleaning and closing down the kitchen to a high standard of cleanliness
  • Ensuring good stock rotation minimising waste and ensuring adherence to food hygiene regulations

Potential to progress to full time staff member and further qualifications.

  • Due to location please consider how you would safely arrive and return from work outside of the scope of public transport. Also you will be on a shift pattern and weekends will be included in this
