Apprentice Commis Chef - Intermediate (Level 2)

While working at The Horse & Jockey you will be working as a commis chef and working towards gaining your Level 2 commis chef apprenticeship qualification delivered by HIT Training.
Your day to day duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Food preparation
- Starting with cold food preparation / desserts moving on to more complex areas of the kitchen
- Learning to cook all dishes on the menu
- Basic food health & safety
- Plating up dishes
- Stock rotation
Our summer shift pattern is a mixture of the following: 10am-6pm straight shift, 10am-3pm/6pm-9pm same day split shift, 12 midday – 9pm straight shift, weekends included as per rota.
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship programme there could be opportunities for development opportunities for the right candidate.

- Good team work and communication skills

- Punctuality is a must
There are no industry specific qualifications required for this role prior to starting the apprenticeship course.
Training ProvidedYou will be assigned a workplace mentor and a dedicated personal tutor from HIT Training who will provide you with the relevant training to teach you a variety of key skills and knowledge to aid you with the active completion of your apprenticeship coursework and modules.
