Job Description

The opportunity to work across a whole range of CNC machines and sections in the business developing a wide skill set across all these areas in both CNC and manual techniques. The apprentice will then further develop and specialise in milling and turning being able to produce a range of complex components.


What will the apprentice be doing?

Skills you will develop:

  • General and advanced CNC Milling & Turning
  • Program, set and operate
  • Work with a wide variety of components
  • Use of measuring equipment


  • Work in a small team of highly skilled engineers manufacturing components for tools used in aerospace, automotive and heavy industry  
  • Work safely with regard for your duty of care to yourself and others who may be affected by your work
  • Always work to company policies and procedures

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence).
  • Level 2 Award for Foundation Phase Gateway Assessment.
  • EAL Level 2 Diploma In Machining (Knowledge Year 1)
  • EAL Level  Diploma In Machining (Knowledge Years 2 & 3)
  • Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering -  Machining (Development Competence Year 2,3 & 4)

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Task Engineering aims to support apprentices at the end of their training agreement wherever possible to develop within the company continuing their professional development.

Reality Check

The first year of training will be at MGTS in Coventry. Mon – Thu 08:00 – 16:00, Fri 08:00 – 12:00 and then apprentices can expect to work within an industrial environment, working Year 2 to 4 - Mon-Thurs 06:30-15:00 Fri 06:30-12:00.
