We are a small hotel looking for an eager and enthusiastic individual to join our team as Apprentice Chef and complete a Hospitality team member, Level 2 qualification. For the right person, there is the opportunity to secure full-time employment and progress to higher level qualifications.

Responsibilities

The position involves assisting senior chefs on duty with storage, preparation and cooking of all food items from the menu, ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly and maintaining high general hygiene and cleanliness levels.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the smooth running of the kitchen production areas
  • Assisting in food preparation
  • Assisting in producing menu ideas
  • Maintaining the kitchen work areas in accordance with HACCP/EHO regulations
  • Storing away all crockery, cutlery and glassware and handling all with great care
  • Making sure kitchen equipment is in good working order and reporting any faults
  • Keeping the storerooms well stocked and always organised
  • Complying with the daily cleaning rotas
  • Accepting food deliveries with suppliers
  • Training will be given in all areas as we use fresh local produce, however some basic kitchen skills would be an advantage.
  • Transport is required as we are on the moors on the outskirts of Princetown near the Two Bridges Hotel

  • Some previous experience would be an advantage but not essential

  • Reliable
  • Able to work as part of a small team
  • Willing to learn

Qualifications Required

  • Grades C/4 or above in maths and English is an advantage but not essential
  • This will be assessed at the start of your qualification
