37.5 hours per week 5 days out of 7, the earliest start is 07:00 and the latest finish is 19:00, with 30-minutes for lunch.

Duties will include:

  • Learn to comply with menu specifications and standardised recipes
  • Maintain excellent standards of personal hygiene
  • Prepare, cook and present food under supervision that meet high standards, portion controls and budgetary constraints
  • Learn and create dishes to meet special dietary, religious and allergenic requirements 
  • Follow, complete and maintain production schedules, legislative and quality standard documentation
  • Learn to use specialist kitchen equipment and follow correct cleaning procedures for them 
  • Communicate internally and externally with customers and colleagues 
  • Commit to personal development activities
  • Contribute to ordering and storage of supplies to ensure stock is available
  • Ensure record of payment for food purchases and that the correct money is taken and securely stored

Level 2 Commis Chef apprenticeship standard, which includes:

  • Level 1/2 functional skills in maths and English (if required)
