Responsibilities
What will the apprentice be doing?
To assist customers with all personal and domestic care needs.
To assist customers with impaired mobility and other physical disabilities, including incontinence and help in use and care of aids and personal equipment.
To support and care for customers who are at the end of their life.
To support individuals to manage their medication.
To encourage customers to remain as independent as possible.
To enable and assist customers to maintain as much independence as possible.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Level 2 Adult Care Worker Standard:
Providing frontline care for vulnerable adults to within their own homes, day care centres, residential and nursing homes and other healthcare settings.
Training will be provided by Bath College, one day a week.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
This apprenticeship provides an ideal entry into the occupation and supports progression within the sector. There is the opportunity to apply for a Level 3 in Adult Care.
