What will the apprentice be doing?
Warwickshire Music is proud to be the principal provider of high-quality music education services and opportunities to over 9,000 children and young people in schools and colleges across Warwickshire and the lead partner of the Warwickshire Music Education Hub. We offer instrumental and vocal lessons as well as ensembles and orchestras at our Music Centres. Throughout the academic year we hold various concerts giving young people the opportunity to perform and showcase their talents. The Business Development Team provide the support to enable this to happen.
As the Apprentice Business Support Officer you will be based with the Business Development Team, who provide the support to ensure Warwickshire Music runs smoothly and efficiently. The role is very varied and will give the perfect opportunity to learn essential business support skills.
Role responsibilities will include:
- To support and develop Warwickshire Music business through instrumental lessons, music centre activities, concerts, and events
- To implement and support a wide range of music education programmes
- To support with IT queries and updates
- To establish a positive and ongoing relationship with customers and provide clear and immediate support for queries, complaints and orders
- Provide general administrative and business support within Warwickshire Music
- Organise and support events, conferences, meetings and concerts that will include administration, financial and design support
- To support all aspects of Warwickshire Music communication including social media
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
This apprenticeship will provide you with the Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship. Training will be delivered by Heart of England Training via fortnightly assessment meetings with your dedicated educator, who along with your line manager will support you to achieve full competency for the knowledge, skills, and behaviour elements of the apprenticeship. English and maths will also be delivered via functional skills classes and tuition if required.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
It is Warwickshire County Council policy to seek that all our apprentices are retained in a further position, subject to performance and completion of the apprenticeship, and an available vacancy. Progression from this apprenticeship will be to become a permanent Business Support Officer for the Warwickshire Music Service, or could also lead to becoming a Business Support Officer elsewhere within Warwickshire County Council.
Reality Check
This vacancy will mainly be based at Shire Hall but will also require the post holder to work from the Music Service warehouse (where instruments are stored) at Hawkes Point, located on the outskirts of Warwick on Heathcote Lane.Skills Required
