An exciting opportunity has arisen at Wensleydale Railway for an apprentice administrator to join their team, learn the skills and work towards gaining a Level 2 Business Administration Qualification.


From the lowland Vale of Mowbray to the upland splendour of the famous Yorkshire Dales, Wensleydale Rural Railway line passes through market towns, small villages, woodland and farmland, offering a great day out in some of England’s most beautiful countryside.

The new team member will assist with the day to day running of the office, including duties such as answering the telephone amongst other reception duties. They will be involved in other office duties such as corresponding to emails and booking in events and dealing with queries regarding events and other bookings, as well as other administrative duties.
The successful candidate will aid the very busy team within the office with all aspects of finance and administration. There will be lots of variety to this role and we are a small, but growing team.

Duties to include:

  • Corresponding to emails
  • Answering the phone
  • Filing
  • Dealing with customer enquiries
  • Keeping reports and calendars up to date
  • Assisting the finance manager with data input

Future Prospects

The possibility of a full time role in finance or administration, on successful completion of the apprenticeship.

Reality Check

Monday 9am - Friday 5pm *based on 40 hours - may include some weekend event work.

Qualifications Required

Basic maths and English skills, maths and English will be assessed as part of the interview process.
