Job Description

With the emphasis firmly on farm machinery, you will develop skills and proficiency in a wide range of technical areas, utilising the very latest John Deere diagnostic equipment.


Duties will include:

  • Preparation, installation and handover of complex technologically advanced machinery
  • Diagnosis and repair of complex faults in machinery
  • Conducting complex repairs of machinery
  • Compilation of repair proposals, estimates and quotations

Future Prospects

  • As a fully qualified John Deere Agricultural Technician, you will have access to further development opportunities within the company, extending your skills with additional training in areas such as compressed gas handling, welding, and, abrasive wheels, as well as going on to achieve LTA levels 3 and 4 (Master Technician) qualifications

Qualifications Required

  • Ideally you will be have or be predicted good GCSEs in English and maths (or equivalent qualifications) although these are not essential
  • You must however be literate and numerate

Training Provided

  • Level 3, Land-Based Service Engineering Technician qualification
  • Functional Skills in English and Maths at Level  2
  • Off the job training will be on a residential basis
  • All travel, and accommodation costs are covered by the employer
