Responsibilities
What will the apprentice be doing?
Following supervision and appropriate training the Immunisation Team apprentice will be expected to efficiently undertake basic administration and clerical duties, this may include the following:
- To assist with all administrative duties
- Deal with incoming and outgoing post
- Photocopy documents as required
- Carry out filing as required
- Make and receive telephone calls
- Input data onto electronic systems, extract reports and undertake simple analysis
- Ensure confidential information is kept securely at all times by locking cabinets and keeping the computer screen clear when not in use
- Attend and take part in team meetings and regular reviews with line Manager
- To support the team to maintain accurate, timely and legible records
- To have excellent customer service both written and verbal in person, by telephone and email using tact, discretion and sensitivity
- To talk to internal and external colleagues in a courteous manner both in person and on the telephone ensuring they receive a friendly and helpful service.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The successful applicant will receive induction and training appropriate to the activities he or she will undertake, and following this induction period will be enrolled with an educational provider to complete the level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard.
- The apprentice will be expected to complete the elements of the apprenticeship within a 18 month timeframe. The standard includes
- Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard (combined competence and knowledge qualification)
- Functional Skills: English (Level 1), Mathematics (Level 1)
- NCFE Certificate in the Principles in Business Administration
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
On successful completion the apprentice will be able to apply for substantive positions at Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust. As a substantive member of staff you may have the opportunity to enrol onto higher apprenticeships.
